BORĠ L-IMRAMMA TEMPLE
Photo of Borġ l-Imramma Temple A strange site, undoubtedly of the Temple Period, stands out near the middle of the Ta’ Ċenċ plateau, east of the hotel. A doorway on the south-west is fairly typical, and the oval courtyard reminds one of those in front of many of the temples. However, there is no temple as such, and the small near-circular chambers opening off it on all sides are unique. It has never been excavated..

USEFUL INFORMATION
How to go: From Victoria, follow the signs to Sannat. At the village square fork to the left and follow the signs indicating Ta' Ċenċ, past Ta' Ċenċ Hotel and water reservoir. Ta'Ċenċ is a rocky plateau some 145 metres above sea level, with sheer sea cliffs to the South. The prehistoric sites are concentrated on the East end. The most prominent is certainly Borġ l-Imramma Temple - reached by going some 600 metres east from the reservoir and then turning South (to your right). It is located midway between two lanes.
